I have a Plex Media Server and cannot figure what is going on with it. I cannot enable Remote Access outside my network. It enables for 4 seconds and then disables.
version: 1.18.4.2171
ISP: Comcast Xfinity
all the ports are open correctly on my ASUS TM-AC1900 router for port forwarding. I have been having this issue for the past 2 months

0.7Mbps speed limit remotely, "Not available outside your network" with ports forwarded

Please don’t hijack other posts… while the other user’s issue might be on the same topic, your issue is likely different.

Let’s get started from top.

  • Have you checked if you can play content from your Plex Media server while outside your home network despite the status indicator claiming remote access is off?
  • Can you access the forwarded port at on the public IP of your Asus router from outside your home network? You should be able to test this with e.g. canyouseeme.org
