Some routers require you to explicitly enable a newly created port forwarding rule. See if your router is the same. Maybe your rule isn’t activated yet.

its listed on my router. i made a new one the last two times i changed it. I applied it. I wouldnt know what else to do or look for. I am pretty sure that the woman said the static IP was private, not public. Then again they seemed a bit lost this time…
Then it is totally useless, I’m afraid.
You need a publicly reachable IPv4 address for your router.
If your ISP cannot give you that, you cannot use remote access with Plex. (or only a Relay connection)
they must be able to because i got it up and running last time. Im going to contact them
they said it is a public IP, thats the only kind they give with the static IPs
Could you give me the brand and precise model number of your router?
Do you have any other router-like devices in your home network?
Like a PowerLAN adapter, or a second router for extending the WiFi range?
i have no other devices of any kind here. My router is a Calix GigaSpire Blast
u4, u6, or other?
it is a u4
Oh, this company doesn’t even have a comprehensive user manual for their routers, it seems.
I’m afraid I’m at the end of my wisdom here.
I appreciate all the help. TY
