I recently switched from a TP Link Deco M5 Mesh network to a Netgear RBK50 Mesh, basically for speed purposes. No issued with TP Link / UPnP worked perfectly with my Mac Mini Plex server
I installed the new Orbi, things are working fine. The only thing that doesn’t work is Remote Access using UPnP. I can see a couple UPnP ports showing up (5353, 4500) but for whatever reason it never registers with 32400. I didn’t have any issues with my TP Link router and it worked perfectly without having to setup port forwarding for 32400.
It is currently working without port forwarding and I have Static IP’d the Server and reserved the IP with Port Forwarding enabled. I am just curious if anyone else has issues with the Netgear Orbi and if there was a way to resolve it so I don’t have these static IPs and Port Triggers across my network that I will eventually forget about?
Same issues here! Please make plex effortlessly compatible with mesh wifi and Orbi… I paid a lot of money for it specifically to speed up plex in wifi weak areas of my living room tv.
Anyone have any luck getting a Plex media server to work remotely with this Orbi RBK50? Every time I try & set it up & running it works for maybe 2 seconds then defaults back to “no available outside your network”. Anyone get this to work? If so, can you share?
I’m in the market for a WiFi extender for my PMS and the Orbi RBK50 looks like it would work well on a multi-floor home. I haven’t purchased the RBK50 since it appears PMS’ Remote Access doesn’t work with the Orbi RBK50. If anyone has had success in getting PMS’ Remote Access to work with the Orbi, please let us know how you were able to do it. Thanks in advance.
