Mine randomly stopped allowing remote access as well a few days ago. No changes made, just stopped. If a reset is helping others, I would greatly appreciate it.
Ok, so those of you that donāt have remote streaming working will hate me after this postā¦
I know for a fact that my Plex server is double natted. A few years ago my cable company replaced my cable modem with a cable modem/wireless router. Itās screwed me up trying to do port forwarding.
But, Plex remote access works for me. I can take my phone off wireless and can connect remotely. My sister is in Alabama can connect remotely. She watched like 10 hours of shows today.
When I look at the Plex settings, Plex tells me Remote Access is not possible. The only thing I see that can make my remote access possible is that under Network, Plex Relay is enabled. I think that means Plex is enabling an upload through their servers and then down to any remote clients.
Do any of the folks that are having remote connection issues have this enabled or disabled?
Can some of you folks share who your Internet provider is and what modem/router youāre using?

If the connection is Indirect, then it is using Plex Relay.
Just tried on my phone without wifi, definitely indirect as expected.
Next time my sister connects, Iāll check but I presume the same thing.
If youāre behind a double NAT and Plex says āNot Available..,ā then sheāll be using Plex Relay as well.
I figured that had to be what was happening. Nothing else made sense. Iām just glad it works. Iāve tried replacing that modem with a couple other models and they just wouldnāt connect to my provider. Sometimes I thing the whole āBring your own modemā is damn scam.

i am using PIA VPN and Starlink but have not changed anything from when it was working
