Remote Access no longer works after password reset

Gotcha. It was just confusing…

Well, I tried the ‘copy/paste’ method… that part worked, but I still cannot reclaim my server. I’ve tried running the PMS installer a couple different ways, no luck. This is super frustrating. I can’t even try to recreate a ‘new’ PMS… I get the same error. I get this when I ‘Open Plex’ from the PMS system tray icon.

I’ve noticed a bunch of other people getting that too… why is that? I never used to get that error.

Never post your plex token, unless you want someone else to take over your account.

When you open the local version of the web app, this is normal.
You normally never need to use it, except for claiming your server (or if the internet isnot available).

How else do I launch/open the web app then? That’s how I’ve always done it…:man_shrugging:

I was problem-free with Plex for 2+ years until this PW change thing happened. Might just say “F it” and be done with it.

That’s what I normally use… I have a hotlink saved. I was just trying something/anything else to get to a step where I can re-add my media files. I can’t, I see “Your Media”, but when I select that… I get a “Get Plex Media Server”. The thing is, I already have it! :man_shrugging::man_shrugging::man_shrugging:

Any idea on how to get passed this? I’ve uninstalled both Plex and PMS, rebooted, all the good stuff… unless I’m missing something else. I appreciate you listening and replying. I don’t know what else to do at this point. I even stumped a fellow Plex user and very knowledgeable one at that.

You need to do that, there is no way around it.

It won’t help you to claim the server.

As I posted above, start with step 5: Unable to access server after password reset - #116 by OttoKerner
