Plex Media Server Logs_2025-09-11_19-14-36.zip (4.3 MB)
Hi, like many others here, earlier this week I received the security breach notification and changed my password as directed. I opted to sign out of all devices (best practice). Since doing this I have not been able to access plex from any of my 3 x TV’s or 2 x android devices.
I am able to access plex on the same machine that is hosting the server, and that is it. I can access via both http://192.168.1.2:32400/ and https://app.plex.tv/desktop/ without issue.
When I try to connect via my TV’s and Android Apps they all say the TRINITY server is offline.
I am looking at my server, and I can see that I do not need to reclaim my server as it already shows my username correctly.
I look at the remote access page, it says it is Fully accessible outside my network. This is clearly not true. I also note on the same page it has a red X symbol next to internet. I am not sure if this is important, but its worth highlighting.
Has anyone had any success re-accessing their server since the password reset? It sound like its killed the product!
Any pointers will be appreciated.
Thanks
That means you’ll have to reclaim your server before it can be used again by other client types (and remotely).

As the old IT saying goes, have you turned it off and on again?
The same thing happened to me, and a restart of Plex server made it work again.

Try turning on and off remote access, for some reason it solved the same problem for me

I am a bit of an idiot as I tried all the proposed solutions at once, and now I dont know which one fixed my problem… sorry.
I did the following:
- Followed the steps on this page, updated registry. Logged back in and it imediate showed my user as having claim to the server. I am not sure this actually did anything, as I never had to ‘claim’ anything as I expected. What did happen is all the green ticks appeared, I tried to access via the phone app and it still said TRINITY was offline. I refreshed the server remote access page and everything reverted back to crosses. I dont think this step fixed it for me.
- I tried disabling remote access, and enabling it again.
- I rebooted my entire server/PC.
- I logged out and back in on my phone app (not the TVs)
After doing all of the above, the TV and Phone app both showed TRINITY server as online, and I was up and running again.
What a saga, all because I changed a single password on advice from the developer.
Thanks for the pointers, I appreciated them.
