Hi, bit of an odd one, I recently upgraded my local network to 2.5gb for future proofing and as part of this installed a 2.5gb PCI-E adaptor card into my Plex Server. However afterwards I noticed that Plex was no longer available outside my network. Putting the network cable back into the onboard 1gb port solves the problem instantly. I tried rebooting the machine when plugged into the new 2.5gb port but got the same poor result.
I suspected a bad card so I returned it and got a USB 3.2 to 2.5gb adaptor but am getting the same problems. Yes the adaptor is plugged into a 3.2 USB port on the back of my motherboard. Windows update did find a driver update but after installing and rebooting the same issue is present.
I checked the network setting in Plex and changed the preferred network interface to the USB and it made no difference.
Can anyone help?
