Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488
up untill last week i had no problem accesing the server from outside my network (and enjoying the content on the commute to work) , lately though it t shows that: " Not available outside your network"
however when i try to enable the remote access again , it becomes available for a second only and the goes back to unavailable again ,
any ideas what might be the issue?
I’m having this same issue. Worked fine for a few weeks then suddenly now this same issue. Anybody have any suggestions?
for both of you…
have you tested if it actually doesn’t work or do you potentially just get a wrong error message? the remote access status indicator is known to be out of sync with the actual remote access status… (sadly)
Actually, it was attempting to access my library outside of my home network that caused me to check to see if remote access was turned off. After I read your reply I tested it remotely, and I did have access to my library. Checked the remote access settings afterward and it still showed it was “not available outside of my network”. So I guess this must be a situation with the status indicator being out of sync as you pointed out. I will try again to access it remotely later and see if I’m still able to gain access. Thank you for your response!
I’ve had this problem ever since I set up my server. I’ve tried logging in from another device, but still says I can’t remotely access my server.
Mine was also working great until recently.
app.plex.tv as well as the media player give me the error that computer is unreachable and the Remote Connection status says it is not reachable.
However if I go to:
https://external-ip-here:32400/web/index.html
I can see everything works there and can stream at high bitrate (so I know I’m not using Plex Pass). I know it’s not my network configuration because it’s definitely working, but Plex Server says it isn’t, and other remote computers can no longer connect.
I have no idea what to try next. It was working, I haven’t changed anything and it stopped working.
After the recent update, My server is also saying it isn’t available outside of my network, but its working. It’ll show green when i go to enable it after disabling it then immediately goes to “Not available outside your network.” Which doesn’t make any sense. It works on my phone via cell connection and on my family members Apple tv/ xbox one 1400 miles away. I hope an update will be pushed to fix this soon. I may have to revert back to the older version, if possible.
That’s what’s important… it actually works for you.
The indicator is known to show a wrong status if a status lookup takes a little longer / times out. As long as your remote access keeps working, ignore it
mine does the same thing
i have looked in the logs for anything that might relate to this. nothing found
is there a specific port that needs to be opened on fire wall or sub domain added pi-hole white list
