Remote Access Not available outside your network

I cannot seem to connect remotely anymore. I used to every other time I would reboot my computer though, but now it will not work at all. I am using a Netgear Nighthawk AC1750 smart wifi router, model# R6700. Can someone help me, please? I’m fairly new to this and not sure how port forwarding works on a Mac.

You don’t do anything on the Mac, log into your Modem/router and follow the instructions on Remote settings in Plex Media server settings. Remember sometimes UPnP can be troublesome so try first before manual port forwarding it may work perfectly on your Nighthawk.

You too? Me as well. I’ve never gotten Remote Access to work. It’s one of the main reasons I wanted to use PLEX in the first place. Hah. Fat chance.
I’ve tried everything suggested in the docs and in the minuscular replies on the part of PLEX mods in these forums. Nothing has worked.
My takeaway is that PLEX really doesn’t want its user base to remote access their files. Otherwise they’d make the Remote Access setup an optional part of the PMS install.
