Within the last 30 days, my Plex network has suddenly become “not available outside my network”. I am on the latest version and nothing has changed with my system.
I have tried to read through posts regarding IPs and Ports, but it is outside of my wheelhouse.
My router is an eero Pro 6e.
I have tried everything except setting a static IP as I am really not sure how to do this.
Can someone please help?
Also, why would remote access suddenly stop working?
When it comes to remote access, there’s multiple players involved – some are under your control, others aren’t. Your ISP can e.g. start blocking certain traffic/ports or switch their network to a mode where you’re no longer able to access your home server from outside your home network.
Sadly, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. You’ll have to get your hands a bit dirty when trying to troubleshoot this.
As for configuring the router… it appears the device configuration highly depends on using their app…
If things keep failing, I recommend taking a look at the remote access troubleshooting to pin down what’s going wrong. The individual findings/output from the troubleshooting will be required to provide additional assistance / guidance.
I don’t have an Eero myself.
According to this guide, you’ll have to use the Eero app, click on the menu (3 horizontal lines) and select Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Reservations & Port forwarding. Click Add a reservation and select the device hosting your PMS.
You can assign a local IP to your liking (within the same subnet as your Eero) – as all you want is to ensure the PMS keeps the same local IP address, you can also go with the one currently assigned (no need to change it).
