Just a guess… have you updated your router to re-establish whatever local IP address you had reserved for your old network port? If you created a new ip-reservation… have you updated your router’s port forward for Plex to use that new ip?
thanks for the reply.
No, I didn’t have to mess with my router because everything on my network work except plex remote access.
But right now i just tried to delete my port forwarding rules and re-did it. Still goes green for 5sec then offline. Is that what you mean?
Typically when you change network hardware, it is seen as an entirely new network and will be issued a new IP, and as such needs all the basics applied again.
If you are on Windows this also means making sure the new network is classed as Private not Public.
And if there is a firewall involved it may require reconfiguring too.
For network changes, a reboot or refresh of all components involved can also help ensure all your DHCP leases, assignments etc. are refreshed and in sync.
Ok, i rebooted everything. disabled firewall, network is private and still the same issue ![]()
What OS are you on?
You want to see the same IP address in…
On the computer your server resides I.e. (192.168.1.140)
In the “LAN” settings Manually assigned IP reservations (static) in the router
In the “WAN” settings Port forwarding rules in the router
In the Plex remote access window “private”
Reboot the computer after you verify the first 3 are done
Then check number 4
Keep the firewall off
Verify your port is open https://canyouseeme.org/
Reenable remote access again and see if it works
Windows 10. thanks
Ok it’s working now! ![]()
here’s what I did:
I disabled the ethernet of my MOBO , deleted my port forwarding rules, and rebooted router/switch / pc. Re-did the port forwarding.
