So remote access completely stopped working. The plex server says that everything is “fully accessible outside your network”, and i have gone to canyouseeme.org and verified my desktop can be seen on Port 32400. I have opened ports:
*TCP port 32400 for the Plex Media Server
UDP port 1900 for the Plex DLNA Server
TCP port 3005 for Plex Companion
UDP port 5353 for network discovery
TCP port 8324 for Roku via Plex Companion
UDP port 32410, 32412, 32413, 32414 for network discovery
TCP port 32469 for the Plex DLNA Server
I am running Windows 10 Version 1903 Build 18362.239, Plex Media Server version 1.16.2.1321
I can access the server on all devices INSIDE my network, but when attempting to access outside my network (usually from one of my cellular devices, all Apple, AT&T service) I get nothing. I’ve read everything i can find, and tried all solutions available with no help. Please Please Please someone help me LOL
Update: I have now realized that I have an iPad (5th Generation) that CAN access my Plex Server remotely, but my iPhone X, wife’s iPhone X, and sons iPhone 6S cannot.
You only need a port forward on port 32400 (or an alternative port of your choice that you need to tell Plex about in the Remote Access settings). All the other ports you listed in your first post refer to ports your server should allow access to INSIDE your home network (e.g. if your server has its own firewall).
The only additional remark coming to mind is to check if you’ve assigned your Plex Media Server a static IP address within your home network.
That being said… if remote access works for one device, that means your server / router are properly configured.
Are all those devices of yours using the same account?
@tom80H - Thanks for replying. Yes they are all logged into the same account, as i type this i am changing my server to an alternative port (8890) and adjusting my port forwards in the router for this. The only reason I’m trying this is that i read that a lot of LTE carriers block port 32400 (don’t know this to be true or not), but that wouldn’t make sense because the iPad that is working is on the same carrier. (AT&T)
Update: That did nothing. I am convinced the issue is either AT&T (but my iPad works) or the iPhone version of the Plex app at this point.
Update: I have determined that remote access works on all devices EXCEPT my iPhone X and my wife’s iPhone X. I can tether other devices off of my Phones hotspot and access my Plex server, but not on my device itself.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, purchased Plex Pass, logged out/in, restarted. Basically everything but factory resetting my phone. Still nothing.
you’ve successfully ruled out for this to be a server issue… remote access is generally available/working
you’ve successfully ruled out an issue with the network of your iPhone‘s ISP/data plan… considering remote access works if you share that network access
Does it make a difference if you attempt accessing Plex on your iPhone using the built-in browser (via https://app.plex.tv/desktop) or the native Plex Client?
Bonus question (and kind of a last straw): did you install any „security tools“ on your iPhone that could interfere with the iPhone itself accessing certain content/ports/…?
Accessing Plex through the browser doesn’t work either, at first i received the message “Unable to access securely” so i selected to “allow insecure connections”, which came back with “Server is currently unavailable”.
