Just recently, as in within the last week, I have been unable to watch media remotely when using a plex-home managed account. I can browse the library, select the media, but when play is selected, nothing happens and it eventually times out.
I can however, watch media remotely if i use the home admin account.
Both home admin, and the plex-home managed accounts work as expected when they are within my LAN.
If the managed user can access/see the library, remote acces shouldn’t be the issue.
Can you double-check the (remote/internet) playback settings for both involved players?
Sounds like there might be a problem where one of the streams requires transcoding and fails.
Thank you for your input @tom80H. I checked the settings and all looked default/normal. I messed around in there and was able to get it to work by disabling the “auto adjust quality” feature. Its weird however that with that setting it works just fine for the account admin, but not managed users from the same app/device. Any ideas why that might be? Am I missing out on anything by having that disabled?
