Hello everyone !
I am a Plex Pass user, I had Plex installed since a long time. I saw the 7.2.2 update on synolgy servers which modifies a lot the multimedia aspects. And I wanted to install Plex on a new version cause I had troubles with frequent shutdowns of the app on the server, and I saw that a brand new install would correct it (and no just updates). I respected the following :
uninstall Plex Media Server and delete the local files on the NAS (i did not do other things such as delete the Plex User)
Update the NAS in 7.2.2 (for the record I unistalled as well Video Station as it is incompatible with this DSM version)
I install the new version of Plex Media Server compatible with this DSM 7.2
Since I did it, I cannot access it remotely. Only in my local network. I checked all the rules of my router and seems fine to me.
I contacted Synology support, but they say as it is a Plex app they cannot help.
Anyone has lived the same/ does someone has a solution?
Remove the port forward rule from your router and then go to Plex Settings > Server > Remote Access and disable Manually specify public port.
Make sure you enable Remote Access and don’t forget to set your Internet upload speed (in Megabits per second) and click on Save Changes.
Plex should handle the port forwarding for you automatically.
If not, then enter an external port number in the range of 49152 to 65535 in your router settings and then enable and enter that number in Plex Settings > Server > Remote Access > Manually specify public port also.
The internal port number for Plex should always be 32400.
Do NOT use the internal port number for the external port number if you can avoid it.
