Synology DSM 7 and remote access issue

I have lost my ability to remotely access my plex library on my Synology NAS after upgrading to DSM 7. I have manually installed the latest Plex update ( Version 1.23.3.4707) and everything is working fine on my lan. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thank You, my remote access is now working!

trumpy81 you da man!!!

I have no option to create or add an External I address or port number. Just the interal stuff.

Its wierd, cuz after upgrading to DSM 7 my remote access stopped working. Working perfect on DSM 6. Pretty bad software testing, to just put DSM 7 out there as RTM! :frowning:

@Rams3y - They didn’t. It was in preview/test for over a year. DSM 7 is solid but changes they made have had some effects on 3rd-party packages.

If you offer a bit more information about your set up, we might be able to help, saying “I can’t do that” doesn’t really give us much to go on.

Hi, thought I’d jump in looking for some solution as well.

I’ve upgraded my DS920+ NAS to ver DSM 7.0-41890, and my PlexMediaServer to the DSM 7 ver 1.24.3.5.33-7000. As with others’ posts, I can see and access my server media while connected to my own network, but those I’ve shared my server with cannot. They’re told it’s OFFLINE.

I never had port forwarding set before, but I tried following trumpy81’s suggestion above to configure port 49200, but that didn’t solve the problem. (I have Xfinity Xfi for my internet provider, and my gateway/router port forwarding settings are pretty simplistic; they don’t allow the individual settings you show…). To configure a port forwarding on my gateway: I choose my device (my NAS); then either a list of apps, all of which are games, or “Manual Setup”; then I specify the port number; then I choose a protocol TCP/UDP, TCP, or UDP. I’ve tried using 49200, 32400, and deleting the port forward, all to no avail.

It’s quite frustrating. Any guidance would be appreciated…

Looking at your account,

  1. CJ-NAS1 is created 3 days ago
  2. CJ-NAS1-MEDIA was deleted 3 days ago

Check the sharing to make sure you’ve removed your users from the old .

If it is of assistance, I can permanently remove the entry from Plex.tv and delete those shares.

Those you share will will only need full restart of the app.

Thanks so much ChuckPa for jumping in. Yes, I was a bit confused when installing the Synology and Plex updates. I thought I’d cleaned them up. So, how do I know which instance is the one I should keep? If you remove the CJ-NAS1-MEDIA entry from my account, will that remove the media files on my server…? And, would your doing this obviate the need for me to perform the steps recommended by trumpy81, directly above? Thank you for your help.
