I have plex server installed on my WD PR2100 it was working perfectly until recently I cannot access remotely, my home wifi is through Linksys model WRT1900AC, I access my plex from my MacBook running Mac os Catalina.
FYI, I am not expert, but I have read allot of threads, tried accessing my Linksys, did port forward and still not working. watched so many videos, so many trials all failed.
May anyone please help me with the issue, with simple illustration

wrong port i would suggest. Don’t use a public port like 80, use the port specified in port forwarding Rule.
What do you mean by not using a public port
Check canyouseeme.org but specify port 32400 not 80.

I recently fixed a similar issue with my server by doing the following:
In my case this automatically created a new port forwarding rule on my router, on a different port from the one I was previously using. Checking via canyouseeme went from timed out (original port that had been working fine for months) to success (new port related to automatically created rule).
I will say yes that might work but that is using upnp which can be unstable.
Setting a manual port forward is the most stable solution.
Agreed. Unfortunately my manual port forward that had been stable for months, stopped working recently and resisted other resolution attempts (I stripped out the rule and started from scratch with no luck). So this was the only thing that worked for me to get remote access back.
I did as mentioned, deleted port forward rule from router and in remote access checked manual rule still not working
Does your router support upnp? Did a new port forward rule get created automatically? If so you need to test the port from that rule rather than 32400.

Yes this too it supports, tried all possibilities that may cause the error nothings works
I had this same exact issue. Worked great for a year, then nothing. I updated the firmware on my router, updated the server and it seems to be ok now. Maybe see if your firmware needs updating?
I updated firmware for my router, and also my plex version update, still no luck
