trying to access my plex media server when not at home but when I go and enable remote access it does not work the server ive got is a western digital what do I need to do so it works

Best starting point should be the related support articles on (a) setting up remote access (quick guide) and (b) troubleshooting it.
Personally I prefer running my remote access through a “manual port forward” instead of some automatic configuration – this will give you a little more control… especially in case there’s an issue.
I have tried setting it automatically and it says its not available out side of my network how do i manual port forward as I’m not sure how to do it I use an asus router
I’m not familiar with those models. A user recently posted this link to a page that has guides for different vendors/models on how to setup/create a manual port forward on that router. I’m not sure how good they are.
