Remote Access Outside Network

I’ve been having issues with getting remote access to work - If I turn it off and then back on - it stays enabled for about 2 minutes before going back to “Not Available Outside Network”.

I’ve ensured that my Deco mesh router has UPnP enabled. Not sure what to do next.

Also separately - not sure if its connected - but I’m also unable to download content from other friends libraries.

Consider your remote access isn’t working at all. PMS “optimistically” shows a green status while testing the connection – while that usually only takes a few seconds, it can also take up to a few minutes (as it seems to do in your case).

Did you already have a look at the related troubleshooting support article?

Make sure to check if they enabled your account to download media from their server to watch it while offline / independent from their server being available.

Yes they have.

I’ve tried to follow the guides that you linked but i’m getting the same error.

I also get the following error on the Downloads -

I haven’t looked at that guide that is listed above but I know every time I was redoing the server and I had to re-do all of the settings, cause it was a new install. The key points are too static IP the server and to allow port forwarding in the router setting to the same IP from the server. Also make sure in the plex setting check the box for port forwarding and make sure whatever port number you choose to go with that it matches both in the Router setting and in the Plex settings.

Was remote access working before, and it just stopped, or is this the first time you’re setting it up?

What’s your full network setup like? Whats the deco plugged into? Just a modem/ont or an isp gateway/router?

Who is your isp? Do they have you on CGNAT? If you look in your router app for WAN ip, does it start with 100.64.0.0-100.127.255.255? If so, you are and normal port forwarding won’t work. You’ll have to contact your isp to remove you from CGNAT and give you a dynamic publicly routable ipv4 address. That may be free or come with a cost. If they won’t do that, you can inquire about a static ip, which will come with a cost. If none of that is possible, you can look into setting up remote access with ipv6. Won’t get into that unless you confirm you’re CGNAT.

If the ip doesn’t fall in that range, does it match the ip at http://canyouseeme.org? It needs to. If it doesn’t match, does it start with 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x? Trying to see if you’re DoubleNAT.

Instead of UPnP, you should check the manually specify port box and enter a port, you can keep it as 32400 if you want, or pick another random port. From there you create the rule on your deco through their app. You can screenshot the deco port forwarding screens if you need help with what to put where.

Once the rule is created, you can test the port with the canyouseeme link above.
