I had Plex working on my Windows 10 computer for years with no problems. I upgraded to windows 11 and all hell breaks loose! I reinstalled Plex and began rebuilding my library. I have remote access set up and it says my Plex is fully accessible outside of my network. When I attempt to watch on my Roku it says my library is inaccessible. I know this has to have a simple solution but unfortunately I cannot figure it out! Any ideas to point me in the right direction?
I’ve just had the same issue occur after a Windows update - have never had this issue before, and now all of a sudden I can’t get remote access anymore (Getting the “Not available outside your network” message in settings.)
I’ve never had to bother with Port Forwarding before, but even went through that, and still having no luck.
As you only experienced this after the upgrade to Windows 11… have you verified the system’s security settings / firewall / … to ensure there’s nothing blocking Plex from publishing itself?
From what I remember, even on Win 10 there were network security settings which could interfere (specifically, configuring the device to consider the network “public” triggered certain restrictions).
I checked the Windows Firewall. All four Plex Processes are checked for communication through the firewall. I did turn off the Windows firewall and my router’s firewall with no success.
Is the network connection configured as public or private?
I’ve checked mine - still showing as Private.
I have my connection configured as private.
After some more tinkering, I am able to get to my movies on my cell phone from wi fi. BUT when I click the upper left corner to go to my libraries it says “libraries can not be found”. If I go to the main page for the plex app and click “browse” I have access to my movies but they are not in a folder, only listed on the page.
PMS online, I click the three lines in the upper left and click, go to more, “Home is currently unavailable”. Home is my computer name.
Any Ideas?
