Remote Access starts then immediately stops

So I’ve been trying to find a thread that acknowledges this with actual fixes but nothing seems to work on my end. I’m on an iMac and have AT&T Fiber with a Pace 5268AC modem / router and an RB500 Orbi router. The Pace modem is in bridge mode (from AT&T). I can’t get port forwarding to work. The Orbi supports uPNP but I don’t think the Pace does. Tried a static IP but I don’t think I’m doing it right (killed my internet and my MyCloud server, only worked when I turned it back to dynamic). I have the computer connected with Ethernet and I wasn’t getting a 0.0.0.0 style private IP address. I turned on WiFi and now I get a proper 0.0.0.0 format IP address. Connected to the Orbi settings, put in service for forward the port per the Plex Remote Access instructions and still won’t connect for more than 5 seconds.

Very confusing situation. Any wisdom?

As long as youre putting the 32400 in the port forward area, it should be g2g. Bridge mode is good for your modem obviously since you have your own router. Shouldn’t need a statis IP and UPNP is only really needed on the router. Have you tried opening up the firewall to test? Give your plex server a static IP addy on the router so it doesn’t change and then add to DMZ. if all works there in DMZ, then you will know it’s something within the settings somewhere.

Well, whatdya know. I had to port forward the Pace modem as well as the Orbi router. As long as they are both pointing to the same port, Plex Remote Access stays stable. Sheesh!
