Remote Access To Plex Through router + router!?

Hi,
I am not able to access my plex player from ourside of my network.
This will be due to my internet setup, but I’m wondering if you’ve got any hints.

ISP->My Router… I have access to it and can deal with manual port forwarding no problem.
HOWEVER - connected wirelessly to my router I have a RaspberryPi. That raspberry Pi has a switch connected to the LAN port and I have a number of devices connected. The Pi acts as a DHCP and router to the traffic on the switch, forwarding traffic between the WLAN0 and ETH0 interfaces. I can’t place the Plex server on the otherside of the Pi… ie. connect it to my main router.

How can I forward internet traffic from the main router to the Pi and then through the Pi to the IP address of the server on the otherside? The main router can only see the IP of the Pi, not the IP addresses of the devices connected to the ETH0 of the Pi, so the Pi will need to handle that.

Anyone experienced something similar?

AFAIK, your PLEX server must be on the same network segment as the player devices or else you will have a relayed connection… You might be able to do something with the routing table in your second router if it has the ability to let you make those kind of changes…

Do you really need two network segments??? You might be able to set your second router to bridge mode and do away with DHCP on the Pi and just let your gateway/router do all the DHCP duties…

Yeah, bridge mode for one of the routers is the prefereable option.

‘Manual portforwardings’ in both devices is also possible.
