Remote access via browser but not android app

Server Version#: 1.20.0.3181
Player Version#: 8.23.1.28053

Plex server running on binhex-plexpass docker container on an unraid server. No issues accessing content over local network. No issues accessing content through web portal (both local IP and external IP).

Router is an ATT Uverse NVG. Only router and def no nat behind nat issues. Have to manually forward the port as it has few other options, but that’s worked fine in the past. Have not changed the settings since I set the server up. Verified correct port is open from an outside network with a port tester.

Remote access in the plex settings… is iffy? It’s always been iffy for me. I’ll run the test, it will turn green, leave and come back to the tool, it’s red. Run test and it turns green again, stays green until I leave the settings, etc etc. It’s always done that and remote access has always worked fine (been running this server ~2 years I think).

I don’t use the android app frequently but I think it was working a couple of months ago. Now it just always shows my server as offline, even if it’s on wifi on the same network. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice. Can access plex server from web url, both over wifi and using LTE data connection.

Thoughts? Is it just my server version being old? I’m going to update that as I assumed it updated itself, and since it’s always just worked I’ve never looked at it.

I was getting so frustrated by this as well over the last couple of days. Looked at so many solutions that didn’t seem to work. Then I read one that recommended updating the Plex version on my Synology NAS. I did a quick Google search on how to update the version on my NAS and it couldn’t be easier. Just checked my Pixel phone and everything is showing just fine. Give that a try. Hope it helps.

That did turn out to be my issue. Got up this AM and decided to check for updates, turns out binhex-plexpass stopped updating because my unraid version was too old. Updated unraid, updated plex, and I’m back!
