Remote Access with Modem/Router combo

I’ve been trying to get remote access to work with my server and I think I finally figured out why it wasn’t. I have a modem/router combo (Xfinity xFi gateway) which is Double-NAT. If I bought a regular router and turned my gateway to bridge mode it might fix the issue, but I was hoping there might be another solution.

Anything Helps.

If you only have one modem+router device, then the double NAT is not caused by this device.
Chances are that they are caused by your ISP directly.
(Carrier-grade NAT, or CG-NAT for short)

All you can do is to ask them to provide you with a publicly reachable IPv4 address. Most ISPs do that if you buy a static public IP for your internet connection.
