I’ve had remote access running with no issue for the last few years with a residential gateway from AT&T. Now I have switched to COX. I purchased a Motorola MB-8600 cable modem and a Netgear Nighthawk XR500 wifi router. Everything works great except Remote Access.
I knew I had to do port forwarding just like on the old set up. Of course it was a modem/ wifi router in one. These are of course separate. Here’s what I did on the new Netgear router.
I’m sure that I’m in a double NAT situation since my public and private IP’s are different.
I have tried to go into the admin settings for the modem but it’s just info and nothing that I can change.
There’s probably some other info you will need so please ask and I will provide it.
I’m sure this is a stupid setting I’m just over looking but after 2 days I’m frustrated and my hard-headed self needs a little help..lol.
