Remote access works then stops

Server Version#: 4.87.2
Player Version#: 4.103.2

After having to uninstall the plex media server on my synology device due to a recent password breach, I am having issues with the remote access (was previously working). I am using cisco meraki and have forwarding to a manual port (for both TCP and UDP), and when i try the test remote access in plex, it works and then 30 second later it goes to not available. Not sure why it is reachable and then shortly after not reachable. Note that when I try to use it with the default 32400 port, it does not work at all.

Any suggestions on steps to take?

While your server is running a check if remote access is working, it’ll display that remote access is up & running. Only when the check is done will the status indicator actually reflect the status of your setup. Thus, with remote access turning red after 30 seconds… consider your remote access not to work at all.

As for the port forward – you only need the TCP forwarding (no UDP).
Did you already have a look at the related troubleshooting support article?

https://support.plex.tv/articles/200931138-troubleshooting-remote-access/

There’s also a guide with some more details on how to troubleshoot what might be causing this issue.

I did read the article and the meraki does support port forwarding and NAT, but the issue I am having is what would be the public IP address to allow?

Sorry, I don’t understand what you’re asking for?

the elements in yellow for both port forwarding and NAT is asking for either remote IP or Public IP.
in the forwarding, I can set remote IP to ‘any’ , but it still does not work. When I try to setup the NAT, it request public IP which needs to have something specified. I am not sure what this would be.

According to Cisco’s documentation you should be able to enter Any as the Allowed remote IPs for the port forwarding rule.
I don’t think you need to setup a NAT rule.

I would agree and have tried ‘any’ but for some reason, it just isn’t working.

as in the configuration doesn’t save or Plex is still failing to connect remotely?

Failing to connect remotely.
I’ll keep digging into it with meraki.

you might also want to review the rest of the remote access troubleshooting guide – e.g. verifying the basics like if your ISP has assigned you a publicly routable IPv4 address, if it’s an actual public IP address vs. some CGNAT configuration…
In order to rule out the ISP blocking some specific ports you can test with a different public port for your port forward.

Last not least… I suppose you actually configured the public port from the port forward in the Plex remote access configuration as well?

updated to the latest version today 1.31.2.6810, and my remote access has disappeared, I’ve been using Plex for years without problems, I use Windows 10, tried to uninstall and put a previous version, restart everything, reinstall, no way, checked ports, from https://canyouseeme .org/ detects my port correctly open.
I have read people from reddit update the latest version and the same thing happens, I did the little they put and it did not work, any ideas? It wakes me up when an update messes it up, and even going back to the past doesn’t solve it.

Edit: After thinking about it all night and not finding a solution, I see this morning how friends are using it without a problem, it seems like a visual problem, since they reproduce well, and nobody has indirect
