Ok, so my remote access is randomly working. I tried setting a port in my netgear R6300 and it did not change. Any idea of what to do, or a phone number for support?
Were you successful in setting a port forward in your router?
https://portforward.com/netgear/r6300/
And if so did you also set in PMS that you were using a manual port?
Have you gone through the troubleshooting steps listed here?
And if so, which part is giving you trouble?
Gone through all the troubleshooting. All the sudden it is working again, but it has done this before and just will last for a short time. Guess I will wait and see how long it lasts this time
I have tried Port Forwarding, manual port, etc., and have found the same thing. Works for awhile, stops working, works again.
I’ve checked the port on my cable modem and it changes. I’ve given a range to my router but still have same issue.
For me I think its my ISP.
Same here.
When I loose remote access I have to go to the settings (without changing anything) and it will take a few seconds and then gain remote access.
It looks like I have to manualy “watch” that setting to regain remote access.
I use a VPN and do the port forwaring at my VPN provider. So I am not sure if that is reason behind this?
More than likely. It probably has to refind the port that your VPN provides for you. A static ip and manual port usually fixes the lost server. Or just enable upnp and disable manual port.
I have a manual port set. I have a static ip on my network.
I’ve been doing some digging …
I would like to ask everyone here to help by providing the following when PMS should be connected and remotely accessible regardless of the indicator
In your browser:
https://plex.tv/pms/resources.xml?includeHttps=1&includeRelay=1&X-Plex-Token=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
where xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
is the Plex-Online-Token from your Preferences.xml file (or Windows registry)
It will return a fill list of XML.
Next, even while indicating “Red”,
Open your mobile App (not using wifi) and go to your server.
Determine if it reports “Indirect” or not. (music is fine for this)
I have done this with this even while ‘not accessible’ and been able to establish the limited (as I should) connection. This is why I say to use music.
Please send the returned to me via PM (Use CODE paragraph formatting around everything please) -OR- put it in a file and attach the file in the PM. Since these are your access credentials, I want very much to protect them. I would rather they not be on some other site.
If you also wish to send a screencap of what your mobile app shows, please feel free to do so.
If you have any questions, Please don’t hesitate to ask here.
PS: WHen you can make it be both “Green” (mapped" and “Red” (unmapped) while not expressly disabling remote access, this is the optimal test condition.
You lost me.
issue the http request in your browser when Remote Access shows “Green” (accessible) and “Red” (not accessible). You’ll see the XML… This is what’s important.
Remember, do not post this information in the thread. it is extremely personal.
