I have a windows 10 machine running PMS. Remote access connects, but randomly disconnects. I’m not sure I understand why. As i try to manually set the correct port, it will all of sudden connect automatically again. Anyone have any ideas?

Pretty likely it has to do with your router.
Create a manual port forwarding in your router.

Reason: routers may remove those (per UPnP) automatically established portforwardings after a few hours.
I’ve tried manually porting in the router and in the plex settings. it doesn’t work. Not sure why this is happening.

Please do it again.
Afterwards, restart the router
wait a few minutes
then put the configuration changes into Plex
(make sure to fill the check box ‘Manually specify public port’)
Then click on ‘Retry’ and let it sit.
Disregard the status which might say ‘not available outside of your home network’
just let it sit.
Test the public port number with http://canyouseeme.org/
