Remote Access

Hello,

I can’t get my remote access working. Would really appreciate some Help :frowning:
I’ve tried going trough the troubleshoot document but it d’oesn’t work. I can’t ping any port

Would you mind sharing some more details of your setup?

Do you use an automated configuration with UPNP being enabled on your router or have you enabled a specific port forward in the router (and Plex)?
Does your ISP assign you an actual public IP address?

Do you have just the router connecting your home network to the ISP or does your home network have multiple routers/access points (if so… which of them did you configure for Plex Remote Access)?

Hello my saver,

I do have activated uPnP and try to restart it to check remote connection.
In plex i can see a public adress with ending port 20018.
So i have tried to manually specified 20018 in plex.

I do only have the router of my ISP in my network.
When I go on https://canyouseeme.org/ i can’t either ping 20018 or 32400…

Regards

Let’s try to enable a specific port forward on your router…
You’ll need to configure that on your router and specify that port when checking Manually specify public port within the Plex settings (Remote Access – advanced/hidden setting).

in port fort forward i have start port , end port , protocol and ip adress.
What should i Put ? i guess ip adress is my local IP (i put a fixed adress)

  • for start port, you can pick pretty much anything… you can e.g. use 32400 or if you like it more custom… 32399 or 32401  – use the same value for end port
  • protocol is TCP
  • IP address is referring to the local IP of your Plex Media Server – which should indeed have a fixed IP to avoid hiccups

When done on your router side, enter the port you selected for start port and end port in Plex (Manually specify public port).

At last, check if you can access the set remote port (e.g. using canyouseeme.org)

ok so I did all of that and that still doesn’t work and I can’t access it from https://canyouseeme.org/

I have used 32401

I have also set allow input connection in my firewall. I have in fact tried to disable it without success

hmm…
that leaves us with only a few options.
does your public IP address by chance match one of those patterns?

  • 10.*.*.*
  • 172.16.*.* to 172.31.*.*
  • 192.168.*.*

This would indicate your ISP is handling their internal network as a “home network”. You could have a similar situation if the public IP address starts with 100.64.

Another option could be your ISP actively blocking port forwards or remote connections to your home network – usually providers who do this claim it’s for security reasons.

so it does star with 81.64.1.***
Do you think if i Try to connect my pc trough my phone to internet, I could check this port blocking from ISP ?

In case they do, the only way to unblock is contacting them ?

Contacting them would be your best shot.
