Try updating your routers DNS servers to Google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4… pretty sure those are them
Along with ensuring ping from wan, this seemed to do the trick for me.

I’ve had Plex running on a Synology DSM 7 for a few years, with remote access working well, a few weeks ago it stopped serving remotely. I have changed nothing. When connecting to the remote server in Plex, it connects, states all is good and then reverts to unavailable after 5 or so seconds. DNS is Google, all the addresses and ports match. Here’s the kicker, I have (and have had for years) a WD NAS on the same subnet and this is still working fine, local and remote. The Synology firewall is off (tried it on with all and ports specifically allowed). Today updated to the latest version of Plex, perhaps a delete and resinstall is called for, otherwise I have run out of things to check.
If remote access is working for one server but not another on the same subnet, this implies there’s an issue with the host of your „other“ server (Syno DSM) or the PMS configuration.
Reinstalling the server software won’t change that…
You’ve already checked the Syno‘s DNS settings — any other restrictions?
Can you see/access the Syno‘s on the specified public port from outside your home network (e.g. using a service like csnyousee.org)?
