Are there any alternatives to Remote Buddy?

I'm asking this because I'm running the trial of Remote Buddy right now, and I love the functionality. However.. Whenever Remote Buddy is running, video performance is severely hindered. Framerates in games get locked at 30 or 60 FPS (whereas they would normally be 100+), the iTunes visualizer runs extremely choppy and fullscreen HD video playback is choppy as well. The moment I turn off Remote Buddy, the performance goes back to normal, start Remote Buddy again -> performance down the drain again. So in short: Remote Buddy destroys the video performance of my iMac.

So, anyone know how to fix this, or know of a possible alternative to Remote Buddy?

I run Remote Buddy on a 2010 Mac Mini. It seems to have no effect on Plex or any other video player. Odd. I don’t think there is an alternative.
