Video framerate slows when selecting “Original” quality

Server Version#: 1.49.3.9314
Player Version#: iOS 8.44

I’m experiencing an issue where the video seems to stutter/have a visibly slower FPS when I set the quality to “original” while playing remotely. When using “Automatic” quality, this is not a problem, and I don’t notice and quality difference.

My server is running on a new M4 Mac mini.

Help in any direction would be fantastic, thanks for reading my first post!

In the iOS Plex app settings, head to Help & Support → Debugging. There’s an option to show a debug overlay. If you enable that, the app will show debug information while playing media. It will allow you to actually quantify the frame rate difference between the two (it shows additional information as well). It might be interesting to see real numbers.

Ooh, please remove that image. It contains some information you probably don’t want public.

Thanks for the heads up. Removed.

No frames appear to be dropped by looking at the debug information. It definitely appears to be stuttery though in a very non obvious way. At a loss here though.
