Remote connection to slow on second server

Server Version#: 1.32.6.7557

I am trying to move my Plex Library from my unraid server to my synology server (due to power consumption). In the home network everything works fine with both servers, but if I try to access the synology server remotely I always get the error, that the connection is to slow. (I know that my internet connection is not the problem, because it works fine with the unraid server in the same network) I also have checked that the port forwarding rules are correct. Now I don’t know what could be the problem.

I’m looking forward to your suggestion:)

When you play something on the Unraid server look in the dashboard. It will say local, remote or indirect. Test it inside your network and then with your phone but turn the Wi-Fi off

This information isn’t in my dashboard it only says what title is playing. But I have deactivated the indirect connection in the network settings. The problem sadly persists.

Which model Synology?
DSM 6 or DSM 7?

Does Settings → Remote Access say “Fully Accessible…”?

If you’ve subtitles enabled, does the problem occur with subtitles turned off?

When playing a video that causes the problem, please capture a screenshot of Plex Dashboard → Now Playing + expanded view and post it to the thread.

Also, please pull and post the log files. Settings → Troubleshooting.

The Synology is a DS923+, and it runs the newest version of DSM 7.

Yes it does

No I don’t use subtitles

It says it is remote playing (not indirect), and it switches every 2 seconds between playing and buffering.

For everyone seeing this in the future, just throwing more RAM at the problem seems to work fine :joy:
I have installed a 16gb RAM Module in the Synology and now everything works fine. (Despite Plex only using 150MB of RAM)
