Is it not possible to remotely control a client anymore? I rather enjoyed being able to use Plex iOS to control the android app and also cast to it (not chromecast or airplay) to it.
Why does the “Advertise as player” option still exist in the settings of Plex for Android TV if I can no longer tell the player to play content this way?
@ChuckPa any ideas? i miss the control… also can’t cast from Plex for Mac to Plex for Android TV…

I get ‘no players found’ trying to cast from plex for mac to plex for android tv.
I have a similar issue. Player version is 10.30.1, iOS version is 2025.21.0
The iPad “sees” my FireStick and once trying to connect, I get a screen asking to “Tap below to automatically install the Plex app on your Fire TV to start casting”. Once I click “Yes, Install App” (which, of course, is already installed on the Fire TV) a screen shows on Fire TV with a button to “Open App”. The iPad asks to “Press Select to confirm Install” but this is not what the Fire TV shows (as Plex is already installed there). Anyway - the iPad app is then “waiting for app install to complete on your Fire TV” and finally, after a few minutes, times out with an error message “Could not complete automatic app install”.
We still got a device with the “old” iPad client, which still connects like a charm.
