Remote display box?

send video across the room to tv??
Hey All --

This may be a dumb question - but I gotta ask.

is there a box/component of some kind that I can sit next to my tv and via wifi/wireless send the video signal from my mac across the room to that box so I can watch the videos I want to watch without having a computer sitting next to my television?

Or it that the holy grail that everyone is waiting for? AppleTV as we wish it was??

Better described.... run plex on my imac and have the movie I want to watch appear across the room on my tv?

YES there is a tiny silver box that will do that and more! The new 2010 mac mini that has HDMI out. It runs Plex like a charm (especially with the new h.264 encoding api integration that plex supports :) )

plug it in and add your network shared sources :)

bonus: when plex 9 comes out youll crap your pants at the library integration of multiple plex's running over a network.

Also, if you are finding your wifi too slow and you have to buffer every movie. I found that dlink has this ethernet over the power plug device that runs 200mbits and works great.

hope that helped.
