Well, I have just re-enabled the Remote Access option, after I disabled it via your recommendation.
It goes green for a few seconds, but then immediately goes red and errors again.
Any ideas?

I have the same problem. I canāt access from apps on my iPhone, my iPad, or from a Samsung TV app. Nothing has changed on my end that I know of. I never did any manual settings, I just enabled remote access and it worked. Now I disable it, then enable it again. It comes up green for a second or less, then goes red again.
I would upload server logs but Plex created a folder with 135 filesā¦am I supposed to upload all of them?
Ideas?
thank God im not the only oneā¦with everyone having this issue its def def a PLEX ISSUE and it needs fixed
it sounds like a plex issue at this point in time, lots of people are having the same issue turns green a few seconds later turns red. id wait for plex to fix it before changing stuff.
Reviving a thread that hasnāt seen any posts/updated for 2 months isnāt exactly a meltdown / widespread issue of Plex.
Before changing stuff I recommend to verify things first: starting with (a) if your server is really no longer available remotely vs. a case of ābad remote access status indicatorā and (b) if you can access your routerās public IP address and the specified public port from outside your home network (e.g. to rule out some impact by changes from your ISP).
if you read the issues, people say it turns on then a few seconds later it turns back to red. and based on the posts this just started happening in like July.
I kept getting my Remote Connection dropped using a Synology NAS. I finally figured it out. I had installed the Active Insight. So, now I have logged out of it to turn it off and now my Remote Plex Server connection is working. Guess they need to fix this bug. It was very confusing since my DS Audio was working remotely but not Plex Server.
its a plex issue im not changing anything anytime i do i make it worse, so ill wait until they fix it. i said in another post. it says not access outside my network yet i was able to see my stuff at work on my works computer just fine.
Instead of looking for users to confirm your perception that Plex has broken something in your setup⦠how about following up on the most basic troubleshooting?
Thereās tons of potential breaking points when it comes to remote access. Some are indeed with Plex⦠others are with changes from your ISP (blocking certain traffic, blocking certain ports but mostly no longer assigning a routable IPv4 address).
What you see as a pattern is a mostly users with similar symptoms that could have very different root causes.
again nothing on my end has changed this just started like with everyone elese. which also stated they didnt change anything as well. it turns green 5 seconds later turns red, just like eveyrone else is saying and also saying they didnt do or change anything and been using plex for X+ years.
Have you even checked the basic troubleshooting or verified with your ISP?
Nobodyās saying YOU changed things⦠but with remote access thereās more parties than you and Plex. Even some ānon-destructiveā changes on your ISPs side can cause remote access to no longer work with the configuration youāve been using for X+ years.
again, it says Not available outside your network, yet im able to connect to it when im not at home, and also when i turn it off and on it says FULLY available outside your network, then 5 seconds later turns red and aonce again im still able to connect to it just fine, again others are having the same issue, and we all said it started at the same time, thus making it a plex issueā¦no way in the world it can be a user issue with it happening all at the same time.
Just a update as of now its back to green, and i didnt change or do anything. didnt change any settings didnt change any connections nothing but both servers are now back to green.
Well, same problem here. Started to turning off remote access after 4-5seconds. I tried restart, then update. Nothing helped, then after one night it went green. Port is open, remote access enabled but server is not reachable on TV. Server is accessible through web, windows player, android app, but not in TV (I have tried LG,Samsung). Everything is from the same network.
I am also having this issue. I have the port forwarded, my server isnāt behind a VPN. Plex can see the IP, the port and shows a green connection. Then randomly, up to 30 seconds later it turns red and my connection isnāt available.
I want to be able to connect to my Plex server DIRECTLY, not through a Plex Relay and have all my content downscaled to 720p. Will this ever be resolved? I thought by avoiding the relay, that I would be able to have a direct connection and be fine, but it seems that Plex enforces you to use a relay and they donāt truly support a direct connection by any means.
Mine stayed green, but unable connect to remote server. I might have found workaround: it started working after I allowed unsecure connection on TV. FYI: I didnt change anything before it stopped working.
I am sharing my media server with several friends. All of a sudden oneās Vizio TV canāt find my server. All other devices work fine. TV model number D65-E0. Plex version 3.13.14. Any suggestions?
Thatās probably more related to this announcement ā Important information about Plex for smart TVs after September 30, 2021
The TV, as noted, is a Vizio D65-E0. Is there a way to see if itās affected?
