Remote Stream Termination w/ message about 4K

Server Version#: Version 1.22.0.4163
Player Version#: Any/all It happens on my android player, my samsung player, the web player, my friend’s roku player, all the players

My remote streams are being terminated with a message displayed that “ElusiveZatchmo asked to stop yourplayback from this server: To play 4K content, please set your video quality settings for remote/internet streaming to Maximum/Original.”

First off, I’m watching 1080p files. Second I didn’t terminate my own stream and send myself this message. Any one know what’s happening here?

I believe that is a feature of Tautulli to automatically do that. I don’t use it but it may have configuration for it.

I don’t have that running and disabled webhooks; would that still be causing it?

There is no setting in PMS to do it. If some other app is sending webhooks to server I suppose but I don’t know what other app it could be.

I would check server logs right after it happens and see what requests are being sent to server

any suggestions for filters to see how I might be able to narrow it done going through the console?

Are you running Plex yourself?
Or on a hosted or VPS system? Some providers implement this themselves.

I am on a VPS. I’ll check with them to see what’s up. This has naturally been frustrating me to no end today. I appreciate your help.

I would just filter on terminate

I did find some scripts online like this your VPS provider might be running. JBOPS/killstream at master · blacktwin/JBOPS · GitHub

So for confirmation, I did confirm with my VPS host that they had a script running. It was being a bit overzealous though and going after anything that was transcoding and they’re correcting the issue. I appreciate everyone’s help and input here with all this.
