I am new to Plex and am evaluating it for use with my Trail Life scouting troop. We are looking at it as a way to centrally locate and share the pictures we take of our various events during the year.
I have installed the free version of Plex, have a single additional user created, and have some pictures loaded. There are 4 or 5 of us in the troop that regularly take pictures. I am wondering if there is a way to let the others directly upload their pictures to my Plex server.
I have seen they can install the Plex app on their phones, but I have not been able to get a clear understanding about the control they will have on which pictures get uploaded to the Plex server. Do they select which pictures get uploaded, or will all of their pictures be uploaded? I would not want every picture they take to be uploaded.
There are a couple of us that use digital cameras, not our phones, to take our pictures. Is there a way for those pictures to be uploaded to the Plex server remotely? I don’t see a way, but saw that a paid Plex account can create additional users and there is a setting to allow picture uploads. I am just not clear on if that is just for phone cameras or if there is another way to upload the pictures provided by the paid account.
If there is not a way for remote users to upload pictures directly, then I can use a Dropbox account for the other people to get their pictures to me and I will move the pictures to the Plex server.
I appreciate any assistance.
