Removed share access but still showing

Server Version#: 1.27.0.5849
Player Version#: don’t know… latest on apple tv.

I have 2 servers (or I did), plex and plexnew. For some reason the former (hosted on macos) stopped responding (even on LAN) though it appears to be there just fine (on host after latest server upgrade. Who cares, I was getting rid of it anyway…

Since the servers have the same content and this was shared with a friend, I note that they can still see dead server even though their access should have been revoked (likely a cache issue). This is true also on my home network where I setup a managed user and removed access. I don’t want to go to each apple tv, samsung tv, etc. and withdraw from the shares manually. Is there some way this can be done or will be done after cache expiry?

Further I changed my username but the apple tv’s (i have 3 in the house sadly) still show the old username as ‘olderusername’ dropdown ‘share’ dropdown ‘libraries shared’.

Hopefully this will work for you and your friend.

For the server that you are still seeing, have your friend (and you can do this for the managed users you created) go to the web portal and then go to settings, the wrench icon in the top right.
From the settings screen, in the left menu, click on “Home & Library Access” to view servers shared with you.

In the list, find the friend that is sharing with you (in this case for your managed user that would be you and the same for your friend) and then click on the box for them (it will highlight when you hover).

On the next page, scroll down to the “You have access to:” section and click on Edit to expand that box.

Lastly, click the “Leave Server” button and then the server that is no longer active should disappear.

For your last question, I think that might just take a while for the update to propagate possibly, though I’ve never changed my username, just the friendly name of the server.
