Removing DVD when replaced by Blu-ray

I had duplicate movies files for a Movie (DVD and Blu-ray). When I deleted the DVD file and re-scanned the library, I expected the “2” to go away. Instead it has a red “Unavailable” next to it. When did this behavior change? How can I set it back where items will be simply removed on re-scan?

Thanks,
Mike

Simply empty the library trash.

I’ve emptied the trash manually, and have it set to automatically empty the trash on library scan… :frowning:

I wound up “splitting” the movie into two entries, and deleted the bad one. It solved the problem, but I’ve never had to do that in the past…

Did you put both versions into one folder or were there different folders for different qualities?

If you delete a ‘top’ folder, which is added directly to a library under the properties of the library, ‘Add Folders’ tab, then Plex considers this folder not as erased but only ‘temporarily unavailable’. You must then remove the no-longer-existing folder from the properties of the library.

Ahh… That explains it. They were in separate folders:
\MOVIES\DVD\Title
\MOVIES\BD\Title
