Renew Plex Pass and now can't access my server

Recently, my Plex Pass subscription was renewed automatically. Prior, my server ran fine. After, it does not know my server and if I try to add my media, it wants me to download the server software. I did finally and let it install it. No change.
Nothing on the server changed as I was out of the country when the renewal took place.
It probably needs some configuration file deleted or edited, but I have no clue where to start hunting. I’m not a novice to systems and have been running Plex for years. I need constructive suggestions on where to start looking for an answer.

Looking at your Plex.tv account,

  1. I see one server: “para…”
  2. It last restarted/communicated with Plex.tv some 8 days ago
  3. It did publish its address (Remote Access would be available to use)
  4. LAN address was 10.0.1.237

I suspect:

  1. Your PlexOnlineToken in the Preferences.xml got updated.
  2. Being a renewal and token update, this might be a bug (which I’ll report based on our findings here)

How comfortable are you with linux command line?
Are you comfortable enough to use a shell script and force reclaim it?

The README will give you the info.

Please let me know if you have any questions / need help.
The next step will be to grab a tar.gz of your “Logs” directory and inspect.

all that info you posted about my server is correct.
I’m very comfortable with commandline. I’ll review that credentialReset and give it a try later today.

I’d like to add that I’m experiencing the same issue, however, the script did NOT fix the for me.

My Plex Pass expired and lapsed by one day. It was renewed earlier today, I can see it when I log in, and I ran the script which completed successfully from the Linux terminal.

End users and myself are able to see the first page of Plex but when trying to play videos or view the details of a particular file, nothing loads and no real error message is shown on the screen other than the generic “Something went wrong. Please try again.”

There hasn’t been any changes or issues with the server until the Plex Pass expired and was renewed.

Forgot to add: If logs are needed, where can I find a refresher on how to post them? It’s been a bit since I’ve had any Plex trouble. :slight_smile:
