Repeatedly getting "Personalize your Home Screen" in ATV Plex app

I am constantly (every day or two) opening the Plex app on Apple TV and getting prompted with the “Personalize your Home Screen” and the only option is to restore. It’s getting extremely frustrating to have to set this up over and over every day or two. Occasionally I can exit the prompt, go to the home screen settings (three dots in upper right corner), back out without any changes, and everything comes back the way it was/should be.

Why has the Home Screen and the home hub been such a problem over the last few months? It’s absolutely maddening to pay for a Plex Pass and get such a terrible UX.

this is occurring for me every time that the Plex app has been stopped and restarted: either because the Apple TV has killed it for lack of memory, or it has just frozen or screwed up and needed to be killed manually (which has been happening a lot recently).

this also screws up the hub order on the left.

attempting to manage it using the “edit home screen” and turning off automatic causes most of the sections to disappear entirely, but managing it on the left using the “reorder” seems to work.

very frustrating to have to reset this every day.

This is a new problem for me and I’ve been using plex on my nvidia and Apple TV for a while. I hope we get an answer. Nothing has changed in my end other and upgrading my plex server.

it occurred with a Plex app update on the appletv for me (there is a dot under the app icon when it gets updated). I had it occur at first on one appletv when it got updated, and worked fine on the other until it updated the app (they update about 12 hours apart from each other).

so, it was definitely during a Plex app update on the appletv.

Same here … Annoying bug and an urgent update is welcome!

I also see this happen on my Amazon Fire TVs from time to time. And if it happens, jumping to a library view and back to home screen does not have an update effect. Restarting the FireTV does “solve” the problem - but from time to time, closing the app and restarting it does also help.

This issue appears to now be resolved. I have not had this prompt to Personalize your Home Screen on my Apple TV for a number of weeks now.
