Replace my old drive from a new bigger drive for music

I am going to add a new and bigger drive for all my music and I don’t want lose anything and do again the Super Sonic analize.
I know that I have to disable periodic and the automatic library scan and to have the same drive letter and same folder structure as the old one.

My question is:
It matter the name of the hard drive?
Right now the old hard drive with my music is name “DATA” and I am using the letter “D”
Can I name the new one “Plex Music” and I assign the letter “D”
Will I lose Super Sonic and any other analyzes if I change the name but assign the letter “D”?

Server Version#: Windows Version 1.41.1.9057
Player Version#: Plexamp iOS 4.11.2

Thanks for the help.

Not on Windows.

That should not cause any trouble.
It is important that you disable Plex server during the transition.
Copy all content from your current D: drive to the new drive.
Do NOT change any folder and/or file names or try to rearrange the folder structure. Make a 1:1 copy.
Once the copy is done, remove the old D: drive (or give it a different drive letter). Then assign D: to the new drive.

That should be all. If you did everything correctly, Plex wouldn’t even notice that something has changed.

I recommend using the command line tool robocopy for the cloning process. It can be instructed to even preserve all the “changed at” time stamps on the files and folders.
