[REQUEST] Advanced search with filters

1 - Currently, the amount of data that we can access is getting bigger every day. In addition to your own library, it is very normal to access libraries from sites that provide content on PLEX.
I believe that an advanced filter would help the PLEX a lot to evolve, as sometimes you would like to watch something in a certain category, but you don’t know what.

I believe that PLEX needs to treat this metadata more gently.

The following options would be a big improvement over current searching:

1 - Search by Title,Genre, Actors, Director, Studio, Show or Everything. I’m envisioning a drop-down in the search bar where you could choose what you want to search by. It would be good to be able to specify the default search method in the settings
2 - Multi-word searching. Currently if you type in two words from the title of a movie that are not sequential in the title, it will not return any results.
3 - Specifiers allowed for Title, Rating, Genre, Year, etc. So for example, in the search box you could type “rating:PG genre:action year:2013” and it would return all PG movies from 2013 in Action genre. I know that we can do this through options side bar in PlexWeb but this would be a great addition for power users who prefer the keyboard over clicking.

some information I copied from another post because I found it useful.

2 - A favorites option where you can collect movies from various libraries and leave them in a TAG, so you can easily find a particular movie that you would like to watch later, more that you could forget in the future if you don’t leave it marked. [Mod-Edit → duplicate, see below]

Thank you.

Let’s focus on the search part of your suggestion.
There’s already a suggestion on the handling of favorites – so let’s focus on the search aspect of your suggestion in order to avoid cannibalizing precious attention.

Edit: the same goes for tagging items to watch later (also part of your #2

side note: please stick with the feature suggestion guide and go with 1 suggestion per thread
