Don't know really what the newly added feature "Added batch editing of multi-selected items." does.
But i'm still missing the most important feature of batch-editing: tag's .. or genre's ..
would be great if you guys could add this.
I am not sure if you tried...
But if you select multiple items and then select edit you can edit the tag's and genre's for all selected items at once...
It won’t work that easy when files are located in diferent folders. You have to go folder by folder selecting multiple items and editing tags…
Are you viewing your library using By folder? Just switch the view to All and you can select from within all the folders.
When I use that approach and select several movies and edit genre by adding a new genre it only applies the edit to the last movie I checked not all. Not sure if that is what it is meant to do.
Working for me. Are all the movies shown as being selected? i.e. There is an orange check mark in the corner of all the videos before you hit edit.
Bumping an old thread but this isn’t working for me. The movies are shown as being selected (orange check mark in upper left corner) and it says “xx items selected” at the top of the library screen. I click the pencil to edit the tags and save changes. However, when I view the tags on the individual movies afterwards, non of the changes are saved.
Make sure you’re committing your change to the field. If you type in your Genre, then click ‘Save Changes’ when it looks like this
your change will not be saved.
After you type in your genre, press Tab or Enter, or use the mouse to click on the Lock icon at the left of the field. Make sure it looks like this before you click ‘Save Changes’:
(The orange lock means this tag will not be overwritten when you refresh your library.)
Also, do not change tabs “General”, “Tags”, “Sharing” before hitting save. Edits do not persist once the window changes.

You do not have to be in folder view
Select several items (circle/check upper left of thumbnail) CTRL and Shift are your friends
Click edit from the menu (upper right of screen)
Make sure the Box title has “and” in it… good indicator you have more the one item selected
Commit your changes (Enter it) (Hit Enter) (Hit Save) I can’t tell you the number of times I would type in a tag and then hit save without “Entering” the tag first.
