So maybe this has been up on the chopping block before, but I can’t find a thread on this topic so here we go.
It would be nice if there was an option in the client so that much like when you search the library for an item you simultaneously search all your friends libraries too, I would like to be able to have a “Movies”/“TV” category where I can browse all the shared libraries movies and tv at once. I realize this could come at some expense considering that we would need to poll all the servers in the shared section to get the list, but you guys are smart so maybe we could have some retention and do periodical or on demand scans.
It would save time when browsing, and I use my Nvidia Shield like 99% of the time to watch stuff from Plex and as you very well know the task of swapping to another friends shared server is like X amount of clicks away, it’s a bit cumbersome to be honest. And this feature would make that a wee bit easier.
I’m even thinking maybe these would be categories of their own next to the ones I already have, so that it’s super clear that I’m browsing all the shared libraries and could even expect some lag while doing so because of poor connections to the server and what not.
