Desperately need the "Section subset dropdown", allowing for sorting by Recently Added and By Folder. Please. Sorting is pretty darn important. Certainly moreso than whatever is calculating that I need an entire category of Stephen Spielberg movies or whatever other random, useless sorting method I'm assigned on a given day. By Folder is completely necessary for Home Video libraries (say, live concert folder --> video by song ), while Recently Added is how I know that an episode just aired or helps me find a movie I just grabbed. And please save these viewing options on a per library basis.
Also, I haven't been able to find a Settings menu that isn't just the login/system details section. Does one not actually exist or is my app not updating or something?
Firstly, love this app on Xbox One! It's finally allowed me to kick my little underperforming XBMC STBs off my network and consolodate on Plex! :)
Anyway, my requests are more UI, and I think straight forward:
1) In a TV Show details page, instead of only having the option to go to back to the season, can we just have an option to "Play next episode" (like Netflix does... think Magnum PI marathon :).
2) I think a few above have hinted at this, but there does seem to be a lot of jumping around to get to the next thing, especially with voice commands. However even with the remote there seems to be a lot of extra clicking.
3) Less urgent, I would love to see some channel support... I still watch some PBS shows via the channel that someone developed.
The one feature I really need to see is filtering. I need to be able to see ALL unwatched movies, ALL animated movies, etc. The groupings that plex uses by default are fairly useless and I find I spend almost all my time running through the browse list. Please please please add filtering. At a minimum, All unwatched (not just top, because top is useless), and ability to view by genre.
When looking at a tv episode, I'd like to be able to press the left and right triggers to go to the previous and next episode. I dont know why I think this should work, but I do it constantly expecting to be able to get to the next episode of the series.
Edit: I think its because of the following: With all the cool smart suggestions Plex on Xbox One places front and center, I am often deep linked directly to a specific episode without stepping through the app's hierarchy. This means I cant easily navigate 'up' from an episode to the series. Instead, I'd like to be able to at least traverse the series at the level I'm at.
I'd also like to see this feature. Right now I have to Click on the 3 dots icons, then go to season, then select the next episode. It would be nice just to click right or left to go to the next episode,

2. Filtering options rather than the random pre-selected ones on the home page. As nice as they are (and I don't think they should be removed), the inconsistency of "top movies in [blah]" etc. is kinda annoying when you can't change the thing it's filtering by; it's like it's teasing you with the ability to filter it. "Hmm, I really fancy a comedy today... let's see what Plex has....". "Top movies in Horror". "Balls."
I only need three things and it will be my go to box.

I'm not much of a Horror film guy but will watch one once in a while. I prefer comedy and drama the most. Seems like every time I want to use this feature it's ALWAYS suggesting some genre I don't want.
Maybe at some point in the future, users will be able to configure this themselves.
Add support for different languages. My Xbox is in german language mode. When I use voice control, I have to say somehting like "plhahi" for "play" :wacko:
Not on the client EVER PLEASE unless the server can turn this off. I don't want any shared users on my system posting what they watched from my library publicly.
I've been using the Xbox One app exclusively now and the only feature I miss is the ability to cast content from my Android phone. This would be especially useful to avoid using the controller or a remote to navigate through the Xbox app, and because both search and the UI of the Android app have gotten so good.
I used Plex on Xbox One for the first time yesterday, and as a XBMC/KODI user the first thing I noticed (and was disappointed by) was that I couldn't customise the view!
I'd like to be able to arrange my content by list (text only), or list with text + picture, or fill the entire screen with an 8x5 grid of movie icons, etc, and then be able to arrange this list by alphabet, or date added to library, etc. As it stands now I have pages upon pages upon pages of content to flick through before I get to something near the end (alphabetically), and even with using LB or RB to jump through pages at a time it's still not ideal.
I'm also not a fan of the current way that Plex highlights the navigation buttons. As you switch between Movies or TV Shows buttons the item that is not currently selected still has an orange box around it highlighting it. So when you only have two item in your list (Movies or TV Shows) it's easy to mistake which item is selected and which one isn't.
It's very early days for me with Plex though so I'm sure I'll have more suggestions soon.
The incorporation of trailers for a particular movie though is brilliant!
Some of these may simply not be possible within the constraints imposed on the developers by Microsoft, but in a perfect world, here's what I'd like to see:

Removal of the 20Mbps Direct Play limitation
Offline mode (no Xbox-live connection required)
Skip forward/back
Trailers support
I'd also like to see Microsoft drastically reduce power usage when doing things like streaming media or playing a blu-ray, but that's a different discussion entirely.
