I’d like to get my interface running at the correct aspect and resolution but it is not one of the per-configured options. Is there an easy way to fix this; if not… is there a hard way?

Well, the TV with the bad EDID info has died before I could test this. Would it have fixed the lack of valid EDID? Considering repairing it; but the cost of doing so is likely as much as a 2nd hand replacement, or at least close enough to hesitate.
It would have forced the RPi to work in that resolution without asking your TV
Its useful for example in the case of projectors where they can take higher resolutions but they cant show it correctly and your typography just dissapears
OK thanks; for some reason my older install detected 1368x720 fine, but my new one is showing it is driving 1920x1080p which is impossible so likely the panel is doing scaling which is sub-optimal so I’ll give this a try.
