RESOLVED: 2020 Samsung TV - Video pauses, audio continues

Server Version#: 1.19.5.3112
Player Version#: Occurs on both 4.29.7 and 5.0.12

I’ve just purchased a new 2020 model Samsung TV:

Model Code: QA75Q70TAWXXY
Software Version: 1115.5

I’m seeing an odd issue where video playback will freeze, but audio playback will continue. The video does eventually start playing again, but stutters more and more until finally the client throws an error claiming that the file format is unsupported. I’ve tried disabling Direct Stream/Direct Play to force transcoding, but the issue persists.

For what it’s worth, this same issue occurs on the non-preview version of the Plex Client app as well as this one. There’s a lot of posts about this on the forums, but no solution seems to exist. I’ve attached logs (4.7 MB) to this post (includes ones sent to the server from the client). Is anyone able to assist?

I am having the same problem. Plex works fine on my 2018 and 2016 Samsung models but pauses on the 2020 unit. Really frustrating.

i have same problem also with samsung tu8000 i bought it recently

This issue has been resolved in the Plex 5.1.0 client. Thank you to the devs for your hard work!

Hey,
I had same issues and the new version didnt correct it.
I dont know why but activating DLNA on server, confirming thats is working on TV, and then open the app Plex Player normaly, worked for me. My tv is also a TU8000, Tizen 5.5, Plex 4.29.7.
