[resolved] deleting sharing labels

Hi,

Just thought I would share this in case anyone else is banging their head against a wall.

I have been trying to delete a particular sharing label for ages. It’s not important so I haven’t really worried about it, but every now and then I try (and fail) …until today.

The notes say that an unused label will be deleted when the database is next optimised. That’s true.

I was convinced I had removed all instances of the label in question (filtering all my libraries by that label, selecting all and then removing it).

What I had forgotten was that, to share TV or* movies in a collection with a label, one needs to label the collection as well as the individual movies in the collection.

Removing labels from a lot of collections is a major faff (as you cannot filter collections), but that did fix it for me.

I just went through all settings several times trying to figure out how to delete a label. I can confirm that removing all use of the label and optimizing the database will delete it.

What notes were you reading that stated this?

I honestly cannot remember now - it may have been a post on this forum.
