With the recent builds (beta channel) I am now experiencing a situation where each morning I log into Plex, the dashboard indicates that tasks are still running from the night before. The screenshots shown are two days without a server app restart. I tried to select “Stop all transcoding” and “Cancel Library Update” and now the server app is no longer responding, but still responds to requests from the client app My choices are either to wait it out or force quit the server app and restart the app or computer.
After having to force quit, I rebooted the server and launched the app. Everything looked ok so I manually started an “Update Libraries” task from the server menu. The client dashboard menu stopped at sonic analysis. After waiting several minutes I quit the server and relaunched. I was able to repeat the issue surfacing again. This time I disabled Sonic Analysis and manually executed the “Update Libraries” function again. This time the function completed successfully. I will re enable sonic analysis once a server has been released to see if that resolves the issue.
I will say that I have added some music to Plex recently but the tracks have all been obtained directly from a cd source (mp3 created by iTunes) so I suspect the files and known good. Is there something in the log that might help me determine where the hang is?
